for The Rectory
Reverend William Joseph de Kilpeck / Kelpeck / Kalpeck / Kalpack / Killpack,
b.1847 d.1940,
assummed m1.1874 ? Katharine / Katherine d.1914
                        m2.1915 ? Gwendaline Mayhew d.1928 ?

NOTE:- Spellings of names and place names may be in error. There are three prime reasons, firstly we have mis-typed, secondly the information was incorrectly entered in the census, thirdly the information is not easily readable on documents.
If you find errors, or what you think might be errors please contact us. - - - -   If you are aware of information we have not included, please contact us.
Whilst we endeavour to ensure the content of this site is correct, we cannot undertake that information you find here, is, or will remain accurate and complete. If you wish to place reliance on any such information you must check it's accuracy by some other means before doing so.
What you see on this page in normal text is transposition from copies of the census entries.
Text in blue / italics, or bracketed is generally additional information, supposition, or result of research not annotated on the original census page.

In respect of the 1911 CENSUS we need to make clear that it is in a different format, on paper, to 1841 - 1901, but the information you see on this web page is the same. In 1911 we saw more information which has it's place, but not for finding the usual details. We have for 1911 included rooms per dwelling/household, which may have some bearing on research.

The number of rooms counts the kitchen as a room, but does not count scullery, landing, lobby, closet, bathroom; nor warehouse, office or shop.

Notes:

Katherine Gordon Wolfe was born probably 1834 or 1835
Middlesex, Westminster
............resident Woolwich Dockyard (1851 census)
daughter of Katherine (widow 1851 census) and ???? Wolfe.

She married George Caleb Eyre Powell
1861.Jan-Mar... Lewisham..... 1d 689

In 1861, William was in boarding school, some 13 years younger than her.

It is presumed he had eminent relatives in Ireland
and they may have gone there to live.

It is presumed he (george) died there.

William is shown on Cambridge University Alumni
as being a deacon or curate in England
so may have popped over to Ireland with the
intent of marrying Katherine, or been in
Ireland anyway where they met, They married early 1875

It is presumed they returned to England
where he practised until she died and he remarried,
and he died in 1940, in Bournemouth.

Have been unable to find either of them in the 1881 census
when he appears to be practising in Maidstone, Kent.
