MARGARET GREEN FOUNDATION TRUST - ANIMAL WELFARE CHARITY
|
It is with the deepest regret we have to announce that Margaret passed away on Christmas Eve 2009, aged 94. She will be missed by many of us who remember her from years ago when she led the helpers who were part of a happy band who willingly worked to fulfil her aims.

THE AIM AND OBJECTS OF THE TRUST
The Primary Aim of the Margaret Green Foundation Trust is to provide Sancturaries in all
parts of the country where unwanted, abandoned and cruelly treated animals
can be cared for.
The Objects are:
To care for unwanted and injured animals until their natural death: or to place them in
suitable homes, which are inspected beforehand.
To provide a retirement home for redundant Riding Ponies, Old Horses, Donkeys and Goats
saved from slaughter.
To care for injured Birds, polluted Seabirds and Wildlife.
To restrict the breeding of unwanted Kittens and Puppies, the Trust firmly supports
a policy of neutering and spaying.
To prevent the risk and spread of disease, all animals are fully inoculated.
To investigate all reported cases of cruelty and to prosecute whenever possible.
To assist in the prevention of animals being used for medical research in
the country and abroad.
Not to put any animal to sleep unless certified to be incurably ill or in pain.
Euthanasia is carried out by the Trust's Veterinary Surgeons humanely and painlessly.

The sanctuary is located in Church Knowle past the New Inn and some cottages. Church
Knowle is found on the road west at the intersection
of the A351 'Main Road', and the B3351 'Studland Road' between Norden and Corfe Village.
Whilst Church Knowle is always accessible, the road after it to Tyneham and
Lulworth is sometimes closed due to tank firing.
This should be shown on notice boards at the road junction below Corfe.
